IDIOM 1 PLEA PIECE (TIME IS A DIMENSION)

Rindon Johnson's Idiom 1 Plea Piece (Time is a Dimension) is a multi-channel audio composition that features a collage of five different sound channels. The project combines together excerpts of songs that contain the word “please,” often used in personal and political conflicts. By taking the “please” out of the context of the song, Johnson underlines the general ineffectiveness and frustration of pleading, particularly in a sustained context of violence.

This piece was shown at Vleeshal Center for Contemporary Art in the Netherlands as part of the group exhibition Some of It Falls from the Belt and Lands on the Walkway Beside the Conveyor.
